about this site

» the history of human desire is done by me, leah creates. i am a photographer, web designer, and mixed media artist.

» unless otherwise specified, all words and photos belong to me. i like to share, though, so get in touch if you want something.

» new photos are posted every sunday.

» the title of this website comes from richard siken’s poem litany in which certain things are crossed out.

the entire history of human desire takes about seventy minutes to tell.
unfortunately, we don’t have that kind of time.

» the first eleven stories are no longer available on this site. if you miss them, please email me for more information .

» this site was strongly inspired by the brilliant work at i wrote this for you:

I Wrote This For You was originally an art project started at Grey High, a high school in Port Elizabeth, South Africa designed to explore the nature of individualism on the internet. An ex-student named Iain Thomas continues the project today, collecting notes from a hand-picked group of writers from around the world.

The photos come from prints supplied by Canadian/Japan based artist and recluse, Jon Ellis.

they are an incredibly talented team, and their site definitely deserves a spot in your rss reader at least as much as this one does. (please know that i received permission before launching this similar-seeming endeavor.)
